Exploring Orkney

You’re just a short walk (1.5km) along the Crantit Trail to a sandy beach at Scapa and onward walking routes to other beaches and beauty spots. Arcadia Park, which is just five minutes’ walk away, is home to ponds, wildflower meadows and sculptures; a great small park for the kids to explore.

Exploring the Orkney mainland and the outer isles from Aurora is also easy. The quickest way to reach some of the islands is by air and on a bonnie clear day the views are spectacular.

You can take the world’s shortest scheduled flight between Westray and Papa Westray, at just two minutes, and even get a certificate to mark the occasion.
