Aurora is located within walking distance of Kirkwall’s main attractions, shops, restaurants, bars, and supermarkets. Kirkwall Pier is the ferry terminal for the North Isles and is less than 15 minutes’ walk away.
Getting Here
If arriving by ferry, Aurora is 14 miles from Pentland Ferries, St Margaret’s Hope and 15 miles from NorthLink’s Stromness terminal.

Cars and bikes are available to hire locally and all of Orkney’s inhabited outer islands can be reached by Orkney Ferries. It’s advisable to book flights and ferry trips in advance as they can be extremely busy over the summer months.
